I’m going to ask you to do something you don’t want to do: I call it the “Flabby Arm Test“. Hold your arm away from your body and stiffen all your muscles. Now shake your arm. If anything wiggles or jiggled, then you need the following exercises for flabby arms!
Tricep Dips
Sit on a chair or a weight bench, and stick your legs out, bracing your hands near your butt. Point your elbows backward, and make fists with your hands if it hurts your wrists to bend them. Try to lift your bottom and hang it off the edge. At first you might only be able to lift and hold only for a split second. Try to increase how long you can support your weight with your arms. When you feel strong enough, trying “dipping” your bottom down toward the floor. Do not “dip” any lower than a 90-degree angle in your elbows. Sit down if you feel any weakness. Work up to 12 to 15 dips every other day.
Tricep Extensions
Hold a dumbbell or a bag of frozen veggies above your head. Point your elbows forward while you lower the weight behind you, dropping it toward the back of your neck. Keep your neck long and breathe out as you straighten your arms again. If you let your elbows point out like chicken wings, you won’t get as much tricep toning. Shoot for 12-15 reps along with your dips.
Tricep Stretch
Moving isn’t the only way to exercise. Stretching and working on flexibility keeps your joints limber and lubricated, improving your ability to move. So reach one arm up and then drop your hand down behind your head. Use your free hand to hold your elbow or upper arm in place. Don’t let your neck get crimped; sit tall and take deep breaths.
